1. When is the best time to schedule an outdoor photo session?

The best time is usually during the "golden hour"—either early in the morning just after sunrise or in the late afternoon before sunset. This gives a soft, flattering light. Each season on Vancouver Island offers something unique.

2. What if it rains on the day of my outdoor shoot?

Vancouver Island weather can be unpredictable! We’ll keep an eye on the forecast, and if it looks like rain, we’ll discuss rescheduling or finding an alternative location. If you're up for it, rainy conditions can also create some unique and dramatic shots!

3. What should I wear for my photo session?

Outdoor Portraits: Choose outfits that complement the natural surroundings and reflect your personal style. Avoid busy patterns that might distract from the scenery or your face. We will discuss the mood and the story you wish to tell and make bold choices together!

Themed Portraits: We’ll work together to plan your wardrobe based on the concept you’ve chosen. Feel free to bring any accessories or props that help tell your story.

Boudoir: Comfortable, flattering clothing like lingerie, robes, or even oversized shirts work best. We’ll discuss what makes you feel confident! Choose a 'White Sheet Session' and take that worry away!

4. How do I prepare for a boudoir session?

Boudoir sessions are all about feeling confident and comfortable. Make sure to:

Hydrate well before the shoot to avoid bloating.

Consider a beauty treatment (manicure, pedicure, etc.) if it’s part of your prep.

Choose outfits that make you feel sexy and empowered.

Don’t worry about being “perfect”—I’m here to help you look your best and capture your unique beauty.

5. Can I bring props or a friend to my session?

Absolutely! Props can be a great way to personalize your shoot, especially for themed or creative portraits. Bringing a friend or family member is welcome, too—they can help with wardrobe changes or just to make you feel more comfortable.

I can recommend talented makeup artists and hairstylists on Vancouver Island who specialize in creating looks for photo shoots. If you'd prefer to handle your own makeup, I can provide tips and advice to ensure it looks great on camera.
