Well, well, well… look who found her way back to the camera. Hi, it's me, your 50-something wild-hearted woman, freshly untethered from a life that no longer fit, and fully leaning into the magic of what does. After my divorce, I asked myself: What have I always loved but kept putting off for later? The answer was as clear as a crisp ocean sunrise—photography. I picked up my camera like it was an old friend I hadn’t seen in a very long time—because it was. That first click of the shutter after so long? It felt like coming home.
From Studio Walls to Forest Falls
When I first dipped my toe into photography years ago, I thought boudoir would be my signature style. Intimate, feminine, sensual… yes, please. But along the way I discovered other styles that pulled my attention away from it and that was totally okay for awhile. I explored some really creative stuff, met wonderfully talented people and made beautiful art! As life and a day job consumed me I found myself picking up my camera less and less. I wasn't planning creative shoots anymore. I realized that I missed it. A lot. When I came back to it, I realized something: my world had changed—and so had my vision. Living on stunning Vancouver Island (honestly, could it be more photogenic?), I started to imagine something a little more daring, a little more raw. What if I took boudoir outside? Out of the safe, curated studio and into the wild? Because babe, nothing says liberation like lace in the rainforest or lingerie on the shoreline.

Nature Meets Nude Confidence
Outdoor boudoir isn’t just about getting cheeky in the trees (though let’s be honest—it is a little cheeky). It’s about freedom. It's about grounding your confidence in the moss-covered earth, letting the ocean wind mess up your hair, and saying, This is me. (Insert motivational song from movie musical here) Unfiltered. Unapologetic. There’s something fiercely feminine and deeply empowering about embracing your body and your beauty in a space that wasn’t made for performance—but for presence. And no, you don’t have to be 22 to do it. You don’t need to be model-thin or cover-girl polished. You just need to be ready to say: “I’m showing up. For me.”

50 is the New Fearless
I’m not trying to fit into anyone’s mold anymore. At this stage in life, I’m here to break the damn mold—and maybe toss it into the Pacific. Being 50-something doesn’t mean fading into the background. It means stepping into your power with glitter in your soul and a camera in your hand. I’ve shot women in their 20s, 40s, 60s—and every single one of them walks away a little taller, a little bolder, a little more them. So What’s Next? More ocean-side sessions. More mossy paths and misty mornings. More women daring to take up space in the most gorgeous, grounded, untamed ways. If you’ve been waiting for the “right time” to rediscover yourself—whether that’s in front of the lens or behind it—this is your sign. Trust me, life’s too short for beige backdrops and playing small. Let’s make art. Let’s make memories. Let’s make magic in the wild. Your roots can be the beginning of a whole new bloom. Ready to ditch the studio and step into the wild? Let’s create something breathtaking, bold, and beautifully you. 📸
