The Travelling Dress - Part 2

After spending so much time planning the original Travelling Dress session I realized that I should probably take advantage of the time I had with the dress and plan a second shoot! I threw out a quick model call and found a model quickly. The Makeup Artist that I lined up ended up not being available and with very little time to plan anything elaborate I decided to go with a simple pop of colour that worked with my branding. I grabbed some accessories in a great teal colour and with no makeup artist on hand we went with a bare face and a cool pop of teal on her lips. I think the result was actually better than if we had done something wild. We went to Beacon Hill Park, wandered around and stopped wherever we felt like a spot inspired a photo!

I am a big planner but sometimes the spontaneous sessions turn to be just as exciting as the ones with a lot of preparation. A spontaneous session can also be helped along when you have an experienced model to work with. Rather than having to give full direction it becomes a solid collaboration when the model knows how to move and pose and you are really working together and bouncing ideas of of each other. I didn't have any editing in mind either so I played with the images until I got something that felt right. I love the soft dreamy feel these images ended up with. Hopefully you do too!
